Fastpitch Websites of Note

For links to a variety of fastpitch websites, click the menu button for our "Links" page.  We include this page to provide special note of a number of sites that we recommend for your special attention:

The proverbial "Holy Grail" of Men's Fastball.  Al Doran's "Escribe" email mailing list reaches thousands of fastpitch players and fans all over the world.  His daily missives keep us all abreast of what's going on in the world of fastpitch, providing the number one news source for men's fastpitch in the world.   For convenience of our readers, we have placed a "quick link" for Al Doran's Escribe Mailing List in the grey bar at the bottom of each and every  page at Fastpitchwest.  In addition to the Escribe mailing list, be sure to visit www.alsfastball.com chock full of information, links, photos and more.  Fastpitchwest.com is proud to serve as the temporary home for the mailing list on those rare occasions when his site is down, at   http://www.fastpitchwest.com/alsfastball.htm

GHFL.ca is the website for the Golden Horshoe Fastball League, based in Ontario, Canada, operated by our good friend Blair Setford, the current commissioner for the ISC-II, and my broadcast partner at Ballparkradio.com, heading up the ISC-II streaming audio broadcasts.  (That's Blair in the photo with me at  Ballparkradio.com.  The GHFL.ca website holds a large umbrella for a number of leagues based in the Ontario province of Canada, one of fastball's hotbeds. The website provides a complete resource for league and tournament dates, links, and information on games being played in the area.  The site also hosts a busy "forum" discussion board.   Note the ".ca" extension, for Canada, not to be confused with a .com.

Well, while we're talking about Ballparkradio.com, I guess this would be a good chance to put in a shameless plug for our own companion website, Ballparkradio.com.  It's the new kid on the block, rolled out in January 2005, just in time for the AAU Int'l tournament.   It's the online home for links to streaming audio broadcasts of men's fastpitch/fastball games.  Best of all, it's an easy-to-remember name.  No more hunting for that long URL.

A magazine style website devoted to the sport of fastpitch softball.  Milt Michael's site, out of British Columbia, Canada, provides great coverage and special features, including my own personal favorite, "Uncle Milty's Pitching Tips".  The website provides top notch coverage and photos of fastball in the Northwest.

As the name suggests, a website covering fastpitch in Central California, the backbone of fastpitch in the Golden State, headed up by ASA Commissioner Dick Grove.

The newest foray by the folks at the Central California ASA, this one offers coverage of Men's Fastpitch events in the western United States, including complete (and I do mean complete) coverage of their tournament, the ASA California Las Vegas International Classic, held over the Memorial Weekend.

Though this website is no longer in operation, we mention it nonetheless, as "Hodgie" was one of the games' pioneers when it came to fastpitch websites.  The "Hodgie" was the website of Iren Hodge, who ran the Central Californa ASA league for many years, regarded by many to be the strongest men's fastpitch league in California.  TheHodgie.com was a favorite of many in the Golden State and beyond, especially the players in the league who reap the benefit of being able to view complete statistics on every category imaginable, coverage that would make MLB.com jealous.  Doug Taylor was  the behind the scenes webmaster, now plying his craft for Western USA Fastpitch Today (see above).
