Introducing Ashland OH Stockpack

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Ashland STOCKPACK (formerly the Ashland Merchants) have completed a successful off season overhaul that involved much more than just a name change. We have added five seasoned players to an already strong core of players in hopes of making a serious run at the ISC II title in Appleton this August. Leading the new additions is pitcher Tyron McKinney. Many will remember Ty from his exploits as a young gun with the Ashland Coors Light team before he played for multiple season with the Midland Explorers, followed by a season with Ashland MVD Sports. About Those AAU Photos…..

Monday, February 18th, 2008

If you are among those wondering what happened to this year’s AAU tournament photos, they will be “coming soon”. As we mentioned in an earlier post, Maddy’s computer crashed, hence the delay. She finally got it back from the shop and is hard at work sorting through several thousand shots, and prepping the best for online display. We’ll update you here when they’re up. In the meantime, here is one of So Cal’s Todd Budke, with the Broken Bow, NE squad from this year’s set:

Rude Pac, Panteras II Capture Valentine Crowns

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Rude Pac’s John Pruneda and Panteras II’s Aaron Sepulveda Garner Tournament MVP’s

From the SCIFL website:

Rude-Pac and Panteras II take the crowns!

With another beautiful Sunday for fast pitch softball in Southern California, Rude-Pac took the number one seed out of the round robin with a 3-0 record, while only allowing four ones on Saturday. On Sunday they continued to win with a 5-0 victory over San Diego Primetime and then a 2-0 win in the Championship game against the Grillos of Mexicali for a perfect 5-0 record. Spud Barker took the win in the first game and Mark Bennett had the win in the second. Rude-Pac may have lost a couple of players from their 2007 NAFA A-Major World Series championship team, but they have improved their roster for their run at another championship or two for the 2008 season. With an already powerful linup, Rude-Pac picked up the services of seasoned veterans Steve Garcia, John Pruneda (tournament MVP) and Mark Bennett; as well as Gerald Pyle who will contribute both in the circle and batters box.
