Britain shocks Japan with comeback win

The first real upset of the tournament as Great Britain stuns Japan 4-3, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

JRW tops Aramark in showdown

YAKIMA, Wash. — Shane Arndt batted 3-for-3 and Tim Fischer homered to lift JRW & Associates to a 9-6 victory over Aramark Monsters in a Thursday night showdown of the top two finishers in the first half of Yakima ASA Fastpitch League play.

In the second game at the Gateway Complex, Brad Campbell homered as C.H. Robinson jumped out to a seven-run lead after two innings and cruised to a 9-5 win over Kimmel Athletic.

This story included some nice pub for an ISF rookie from California, the 2008 ISC II MVP, Marcus Tan:

“Koert got some defensive help from right-fielder Marcus Tan in the top of the sixth. Tan sprinted all the way to the wall to track down a well-hit ball from Hiraku Yokoyama.

“It was a great play,” Yokoyama, an outfielder, said through a translator.”
