CPI Fastpitch at Our “Teams” Page

CPI had a Cinderella run this year at the AAU International Tournament, finishing in a tie for third place, the first ISC II to ever place that hight.

They enter this year’s Tournament of Champions as the # 4 ranked team

Team Rainey/IAC at Vancouver

[Vancouver, BC ] – The Vancouver Grey Sox played host to
Team Rainey /IAC of Whittier, California for a four game super series at South Memorial Park in Vancouver this past weekend. The Grey Sox took 3 of 4 contests from our guests. Game results are enclosed below. We wish to thank Rod Rainey and the entire Team Rainey / IAC organization for making the trip to Vancouver and providing the local fastpitch fans with a chance to view some good quality open level mens fastpitch. The Grey Sox seasonal record now stands at 25 – 6.

Next action for the Grey Sox is next weekend when they will travel to Portland, Oregon for a four game super series with Portland DeMarini. Doubleheaders start at 7:00 pm Saturday July 19th and 9:00 am Sunday July 20th, with all games being played at Erv Lind Stadium.

The following weekend (July 25 – 27) the Grey Sox and South Hill Sports will host the 7th Annual Vancouver Challenge, with action commencing Friday evening at 6:30 pm and games all day Saturday and Sunday with the Championship Final set for 2:00 pm Sunday July 27th. An announcement of the line up of teams and the tournament draw will be provided in the next couple of days.

# 16 Team Rainey at # 9 Vancouver Grey Sox This Weekend

The Vancouver Grey Sox take their 22-5 season record into a 4 game super series vs. Team Rainey / IAC (Italian Athletic Club) of Whittier, California at South Memorial Park in Vancouver this weekend. This is the first ever appearance by Team Rainey / IAC in the Vancouver area, and local fans can expect an excellent weekend of open level mens fastpitch. The weather forecast is for sunny and warm summer conditions both days.

The Grey Sox are ranked 9th by the International Softball Congress in the most recent rankings issued earlier this week, and Team Rainey / IAC are ranked 16th.

Game times are 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12th. 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Free Admission. (South Memorial Park is on E.41st Ave between Fraser and Knight streets in Vancouver.)

California LumberKings retain #1 ranking heading into Tournament of Champions

July 11, 2008 – The California LumberKings will be the top seed at the 2008 ISC II Tournament of Champions as they were ranked #1 by all 12 members of the ranking committee.

With three wins in their last four matchups, defending champion South Lebanon TNT edged the New York Knights for #2 spot.

The top 8 teams who will headline each of the pools in the ToC are:

Houston Aces Head to San Antonio for 4th

The Houston Aces will be geared up to go this holiday weekend as they travel to San Antonio, Texas for the annual 4th of July weekend tournament hosted by the Gloworms. This will be only the Aces 3rd tournament of the year with a 1st place finish and a 1st round exit in two previous tournaments. There will be 20+ teams at this years tournament with plenty of ISC pitching coming down to play in the HOT Texas sun. Weather predicts 100 degree weather with little rain ( which only makes it humid and hotter). The Aces are set for an 11 am start time facing the winner of the San Antonio Giants vs Austin A’s. Updates will be sent throughout this weekends play.

[New Westminster, BC] – The Vancouver Grey Sox and the New Zealand Under 19 Mens National Team completed a doubleheader at Moody Park this evening in comfortable mid June west coast weather conditions and a decent gathering of spectators. The Grey Sox downed the Kiwis by scores of 4-1 and 8-1. Results from the games are listed below.

Next action for the Grey Sox is Saturday June 14th when they will play the Canada Under 19 Mens National Team a doubleheader starting at 3:00 pm PDT at South Memorial Park in Vancouver. The same two teams also have scheduled a single game commencing at 11:00 am on Sunday June 15th again at South Memorial Park.
