Maddy has posted a couple dozen photos from Opening Day at the ISC II Tournament of Champions.
Maddy will have many more photos in the final galleries, but is posting a couple dozen each day so that you can enjoy them as we go. Watch for more after tomorrow’s game. You can email Maddy about her photos at maddy (at) maddysphotos.com
For those of you who have been asking, we’ve posted the photos that Maddy took at the 16th Annual Best of the West Tournament in beautiful Santa Barbara, California last weekend.
Click the link here, then the menu buttons on the left for Gallery 1 and Gallery 2. The photos are of the semi-finals and championship game, only, as we didn’t make it up there until Sunday. You’ll also note that the photos are posted at Maddy’s (new) site, www.maddysphotos.com, as we’ve run out of space temporarily at Fastpitchwest. By the way, Amtrak proved to be a great way to go, should you get the chance in the future. The fields were just blocks from the train station, and a good portion of the ride runs right along the beach.

Some great photos taken from Snapper Shootout, taken by Robin Wilson. See Blair’s post and link to pics at our ISC II blog, “The Deuce”.
Well, it took a bit longer than we thought, but we finally cleared space on the site for Maddy’s Red Rock Tournament photos, taken May 6-7, 2006 at the Canyons Complex in beautiful St. George, Utah.
Click here to view (or click camera below) , and then the menu buttons on the left hand side for Galleries 1 – 5. The photos are roughly chronological, with Saturday morning’s games in Gallery 1 and Sunday’s championship game in Gallery 5. Hope you enjoy them.
….on Tuesday? Well, just a few to wet your appetite, with 132 more coming as soon as we can clear some space on Fastpitchwest. I got a sneak preview tonight, and think you’ll find them worth the wait. Stay tuned.
Can anyone ID the players in this filmstrip sequence? (click comments below)
Softball Magazine has published Fastpitchwest’s feature story, “Price is Right” and photo layout from the 2006 AAU International Tournament in this month’s issue.
The magazine, dubbed the “Sports Illustrated of Softball” is available by subscription, and now also at a variety of newstands and bookstores across the country, including some Borders, Barnes & Noble, Waldens, Michael’s, and all of the Books-A-Million If you’re not already receiving it, we recommend it to you. Softball Magazine has been providing some great coverage of men’s fastball over the past several years, including the AAU, Red Rock, Rose Cup and ISC tournaments.
This month’s issue features full page photos of AAU tournament MVP Frank DeGroat, Jr., on the “inside cover” and Travis Price, who earned Most Valuable Pitcher honors at the tournament. (the “Price” in “Price is Right”) . Both players played for the 2006 AAU champion, Team USA, and will be at the Red Rock tournament this coming weekend in St. George, Utah, with their respective teams, Patsy’s of New York, and the So Cal Bombers.
Runner-up Team Minnesota is also featured prominently in the article.

Well, today is Monday, following the first league weekend of the season, and you all know what that means: “Maddy’s Monday Night Photos”, from Palm Springs, CA. Hope you enjoy them. Please note that she only shot on Sunday, so was not able to get some of all of the teams for posting. Stay tuned, and hopefully, we’ll get you next time around. There are separate galleries for the B and C divisions.
We’ve posted Maddy’s photos from the Hall of Fame “Tribute to Legends” Dinner held in Long Beach on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Click here to view the three galleries.
Gallery 3 contains group shots of 14 ISC Hall of Famers in attendance, including its newest members for 2006, Ed Klecker and Greg Sepulveda, in whose honor the dinner was held. We’ll be adding a recap of the evening’s festivities, which were MC’d by ISC Hall of Famer Hice Stiles.
In the meantime, hope you enjoy the photos. We will be adding captions with the names of the people in the pictures, so you can tell who’s who. Among my favorite photos are a few of fastballer Barry Woolery and his paintings that he did of (and for) Greg Sepulveda. Remarkable, and even more so in person.
