Two Run Triple by Jesse Duncan in 5th Keys Rally

Pitcher Bricklen Anderson tossed a 9-strikeout 2 hitter for Rainey. The Bahamas squad struck first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Team Rainey Wins Opener at ISC World Tournament

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Team Rainey won their opener at the ISC World Tournament Sunday, a 2-1 victory over the Kegel Black Knights of Fargo, North Dakota. Pitcher Sebastian Gervasutti was dominant in the game, striking out 18 batters. Rainey won the game in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the score tied, Chris Hunt doubled, and came home to score the game winner on a pinch hit single by Josh Tisdale.

The game was reminiscent of the opener that Team Rainey played in the 2006 ISC World Tournament — in which they beat the same Kegal Black Knights. In that game, it was Sebastian Gervasutti picking up the win, and Chris Hunt homering to power the offense.

Rainey’s win earned them the honors of playing the defending ISC World Tournament Champions, The Farm Tavern of Madison, Wisconsin in their next game, at 7 pm on Tuesday night.

ISC TV Live at 4pm Central Today

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

A note to ISC Fans:

Just a reminder that ISC TV goes live at 4 PM Central Time on Sunday August 10. On the sportsjuice.com Home Page, you can choose your Time Zone, and select the Box that says Daylight Savings time. That should synchronize the sportsjuice ISC streaming video schedule, with your local clock.

Sportsjuice.com has also implemented a free Windows Media Player Plug-in for viewers of the 2008 ISC World Tournament. The solution is from Abacast Enabled Streaming Media, and the plug-in optimizes the Windows Media Player. This creates a more stable streaming connection with fewer breaks, skips, or buffers compared to standard streaming technology.

It takes about 3 quick steps for about a minute to download the plug-in, and you only have to do it one time. The instructions on teh ISC Sportsjuice.com page are easy to follow, although some browser security settings, may question whether you really want to download a file with a .exe extension. Just allow it, and enjoy the world tournament video streams.

Please allow 3 to 15 seconds for the optimized Windows Media Player to load, after the plug-in is succesfully downloaded, and automatically installed.

Due to the start of the 2008 Olympics, data traffic (especially live video) on the Internet is at an all time high. This innovative implementation from Sportsjuice should help fastball fans around the world to better enjoy the ISC World Tournament streaming experience, and bypass the clogged internet arteries caused by the Olympics.

Special Olympics at ISC – Reminder

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Just a reminder about the ISC/Special Olympics game that will be held this year. To date, I’ve heard from the following teams/groups about being part of this event.

The Bar of Appleton – Chad Mix
Thomson Merchants – Bruce Bielema
Fastpitch West – Jim and Maddy Flanagan
The Bar of Green Bay – Ric Thompson
Midland Explorers – Grant Patterson
Circle Tap – Tom Crouch
Scarborough Wolverines – Ryan Freedman
SoCal Bombers – Tony Peeples

Please email me if your team can send someone. We’d like to have as much representation as possible from the all the ISC teams.

Date: Thursday, August 14th

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location: Diamond 1, Sunset Park

The Blazing Stars, a Fox Valley Special Olympics team, will have about 12-15 players, and once we get the final lists, we’ll split the 2 groups up evenly so that the Special Olympics and WT players get to be teammates. Once the teams are set, we’ll play a 1-hour slowpitch game between the two teams.

The game can accomodate as many players/teams as there is interest – no one gets turned away if they want to be part of it.
