ORILLIA, ON, (February 12, 2008) – The City of Orillia Parks & Recreation Department and the Organizing Committee of the World Series of Fastball are very pleased to announce the signing of a new presenting sponsor of the annual major men’s international fastball tournament. Osprey Media Publishing Inc, a division of Sun Media, is very pleased to become a major part of this annual international event in Orillia. This sponsorship will allow the organizing committee to not only promote this exciting event throughout Central Ontario but it will also allow them to promote both the tournament as well as the game of men’s fastball throughout all corners of Ontario.
Osprey Media is by far the most dominate newspaper publisher in Ontario outside of the province’s largest metropolitan areas. They currently publish 20daily and 34 non-daily newspapers, as well as a number of shopping guides and magazines. Osprey Media’s local relationship and commitment to their communities is at the core of who they are and what they do.
The annual World Series of Fastball is now in its 11th year of operation and it has established itself as one of the top invitational tournaments on the major men’s tournament schedule. The tournament has played host to teams from across North America and as faraway as New
Zealand. The Annual World Series of Fastball features the best men’s fastball players in the world.
The 2008 edition of the annual World Series of Fastball will take place at Kitchener Park, in the city of Orillia, on the weekend of July 18, 19, and 20. The invitations have been sent out to the teams and we will soon be announcing which teams will be competing at the 2008 tournament. Additional information, including additional new sponsors will be released in the coming months.
