Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Courtesy of Al Doran’s Fastball, and the Circle Tap team, some game details on one of the So Cal Bombers’ wins at the Walsh tournament over the weekend, a 7-4 win over #5 ranked Circle Tap, coming on the hitting of Mike Butler, and a 3 run bomb in the 7th by “GK”, Gerry Kennedy:

Circle Tap 4 SoCal Bombers 7
CT 4 9 1
SB 7 13 1
SoCal led off the bottom half of the first as Mike Butler hit a ball to the break away fence and our 2nd baseman had to run out to center to retrieve the ball allowing him to score. SoCal made it a 2-0 game in the 3rd as Albert Mendibles led off with a base hit and moved to 3rd on a pick off play gone bad. Jason Porto delivered and RBI base hit. CT would come to life in the 4th taking a 3-2 lead as LaLonde led off with a base hit, with one out Magnusson singled and with two out Todd Malnory, Kevin Reichardt and Steve Sell delivered consecutive hits with Reichardt getting gunned down at the plate for the 3rd out. SoCal would even the score on a suicide squeeze following a couple base hits. Dewey Dyck came on in relief and recored the 3rd out to end the rally. CT would reclaim the lead 4-3 in the 5th. Collin McKenzie came on in relief of Tony Peeples for SoCal. Darren Derricks earned a walk followed by a base hit by Miljavac, Magnusson would later come up with a sac fly to score a run but we left two men on again. The game would remain 4-3 CT until the bottom of the 7th. Mike Butler led off with a base hit then a strike out for the first out, however Butler moved to 2nd on a wild pitch and would score on a Glen Ormsby base hit, Jason Porto followed with a base hit and them Gerry Kennedy hit a 3 run bomb to end the game. Malnory finished 2×2, Reichardt 2×3, Sell 2×3.
