Final ASA “C” National Scores and Brackets

Here are the last set of scores from the ASA “C” National Tournament at Stockton, CA.

The official site had a glitch with the bracket, and currently, only the winner’s bracket is available. For those of you wanting to fill out a final winner’s and loser’s bracket, click the link below to access the PDF bracket that was posted on Sunday night, up to the 8pm games. You can take the scores that we’ll post here and fill in the rest.

2006 World and National Tournaments

Now that the final outs have been recorded on the final national tournaments for 2005, many are already making plans for 2006. In case you were wondering, here is where next year’s events will be held:

ISC World – Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
ISC II – Kitchener/Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
ASA Major – South Bend IN
ASA Class A – Decatur, Illinois
ASA Class B – Killeen, Texas
ASA Class C – Marietta/Cobb County, Georgia

* I notice that the ASA website refers to the 50+ as the “Seniors” not “Masters”. I resent that ! 😉

I’ve added some noteworthy stats from the ASA “C” Nationals at the Fastpitchwest Forum (under “National Tournaments/ASA “C” Stockton), and invite readers to post reply notes to add additional ones.

Derrick Zechman of 2005 Champions Penn Power, PA:
21-35, .600 avg, including 11 singles, 5 doubles, 3 triples and 2 home runs, 12 RBI. Some pretty sick numbers, eh?

714 – As in “Ruth” and “Damo”

From the Long Beach Black Sox website:

Damian “Damo” Guerrero won the most recent “Black Sox Survey Quiz” with 5 hits in 2 games at the ASA “C” Nationals over the weekend.

Sox slugger Damo Guerrero had 5 hits in stockton and hit .714 in 2 games to win the survey question. There were 3 people who had the correct answer but nobody left their name to claim their prize. Sox coach fred hanker will reward damo with a special award at the team party for his achievement. Damo was 3-3 in the 1st game and 2-4 in the second game. The sox will be having their team party and awards banquet in a few weeks. Check out the new survey and poll available now.

CR/DeMarini, Oregon Wins ASA “A” Nationals

Monday, September 5th, 2005

CR/DeMarini of Oregon won the Class “A” National Championship at Kileen, Texas over the Labor Day Weekend. The Portland area team dropped the winner’s bracket final to Kriedler & Flick, but came back to beat them twice in the championship and “if” game.

Mark Bennett, from Santa Barbara California of CR/DeMarini was named the Most Valuable Pitcher in the tournament.

The tournament hosted five (5) teams.
