The Real Story Behind “Foxy 25”

Friday, September 9th, 2005

An earlier story below contributed to Fastpitchwest referred to the Penn Power cheerleader, Marley, as “Foxy 25”, owing to the name “Foxy” and number “25” on the T-shirt which she wore while cheering on eventual ASA “C” Champions, Penn Power. “Foxy 25”, we learned, actually refers to Rodney Fox, a Penn Power teammate who died tragically in an accident, and to whom the team dedicated the rest of the season. The walk is coming up soon, just a week from Sunday, September 18, so if you haven’t visited Roberta’s page, we recommend it as worthy cause, and a way to honor Dewey.

714 – As in “Ruth” and “Damo”

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

From the Long Beach Black Sox website:

Damian “Damo” Guerrero won the most recent “Black Sox Survey Quiz” with 5 hits in 2 games at the ASA “C” Nationals over the weekend.

Sox slugger Damo Guerrero had 5 hits in stockton and hit .714 in 2 games to win the survey question. There were 3 people who had the correct answer but nobody left their name to claim their prize. Sox coach fred hanker will reward damo with a special award at the team party for his achievement. Damo was 3-3 in the 1st game and 2-4 in the second game. The sox will be having their team party and awards banquet in a few weeks. Check out the new survey and poll available now.
