Guido Silbert Pitches Young Bucks to National Title

Monday, August 18th, 2008

From David Blackburn:

Guido Silbert pitched the Young Bucks of Santa Barbara, CA to the under 23 North American Championships earlier today.

He got the win in the Championship Game for coach Clyde Bennett. I feel especially happy because I connected Guido with my old Santa Barbara coach Clyde Bennett, after we played in Argentina in Dec / Jan. Clyde put Guido up for the summer, and it paid off in a championship.

Editor’s note: Guido was the winning pitcher for Argentina’s 19u Junior Men’s historic win over New Zealand, the first time Argentina had ever beaten New Zealand. That game concluded on a game-ending triple play ! Giudo also pitched in his team’s win over Team USA Juniors in the same tournament, held in June 2008 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
