The bracket for the ASA “C” Nationals in historic Prescott, Arizona has been released.

Ken Lindley Field and Park

Located at 702 E. Gurley Street, Ken Lindley Field & Park is Prescott’s historic stadium built in the 1930’s. This park is used as a multi-use facility between softball, soccer and football. It is utilized for league play, state and national tournaments. The stadium includes a snack bar, picnic tables, and restrooms. The park includes a playground with swings, slides, many climbing and springing structures. In addition Ken Lindley has a large ramada for picnics or reservations with a barbeque grill, picnic tables and easy access to the restroom facilities

Hickson, ON Reds win NAFA “AA”

August 25th, 2008



Hickson Reds won the NAFA “AA” Championship this weekend in Mankato, Minnesota, the sixth “AA” title for Ontario in the past 12 years.

Hickson won their first two games before losing a 1-0 decision to Waverly, MN Herda & Sons to drop into the loser’s bracket.

The Reds then knocked off Michigan Blues and Cerro Gordo, MN before avenging the defeat to Herda with a 6-3 win.

In the finals, Hickson took out Marquette Fence 3-0 and 2-1 to win the title.

Hickson joins Scarborough Royals, Colborne Rutherflo, Innerkip Eagles, Toronto Jaguars and Sebringville Sting as NAFA “AA” champions hailing from Ontario.

So Cal Teams Return with Winning Records from NAFA “A” World Series

August 25th, 2008


All three teams from Southern California returned from Mankato, Minnesota, with winning records while competing in the NAFA “A” World Series. The teams compete in the So Cal Independent Fastpitch League (SCIFL).

The Panteras II won their first two games in the tournament, falling in their third, 5-4 to Jack Daniels, Ohio, then finishing 3-2 in the tournament.

Flor de Cana, of the SCIFL dropped their first game of the tournament, then reeled off four consecutive wins before being eliminated, finishing 4-2 in the tournament.

Palm Spring Express of the SCIFL won their first game, then fell to the loser’s bracket at the hands of eventual champion Belleville, IL, picked up a forfeit win and another before elimination, finishing 3-2 in the tournament.

Belleville Stallions Claim NAFA “A” Title

The Belleville Stallions of Illinois dropped the winner’s bracket final to Fat City of California, but made it back to the championship game, beating Fat City twice for the NAFA “A” title on Sunday, August 24. Click here for the bracket. The Belleville Stallions were this year’s Illinois ASA Class “B” State Champions.

Defending Canadian Champions Drop Two at Sr. Canadians

The big news from opening day at the Canadian Senior “A” Men’s Fastpitch Softball Championship is that the defending champion Vancouver Grey Sox lost both of their games.

That included a 4-3 setback to the host Saskatoon-Aspen Interiors in the feature game at Bob Van Impe Park following the Opening Ceremonies last night. Aspen and Jarvis, Ontario are 2-and-0. The Polyplus Diamondbacks won their lone game, 3-2 in eight innings over Horse Lake, Alberta while the Bruno Merchants lost twice…8-0 to St. Thomas, Ontario and 7-0 to Newfoundland. Play resumes at 9 this morning. All three Saskatchewan teams play twice.
