Passing of Jay Halverson, Hobnobber Tavern, WA

We are sorry to report the passing of Jim Halverson of Burien, WA, 52, and share a note from a former teammates of his on the Hobbnobber Tavern, WA, the 1994 NAFA “AA” World Series Champions, Jim Perkins:

On January 5th 2007 Jay Halverson of Burien, Washington passed away at the age of 52. You may recognized his name as a pitcher from the Northwest playing for teams like Hobnobber, BZ’s, and Seafirst as well as countless others as a pick up player. Services where held last Saturday the 13th. I was fortunate enough to play with Jay in 1994 when we won the Nafa AA National tournament for Hobnobber, where Jay was selected to the All-World team for pitching. His favored expression was, “I’ll decide” and thoughts how he lived life. His friends and family will miss him dearly.
