* The Vancouver Grey Sox scheduled game at 1:30 pm PDT vs. St. John’s Newfoundland Roebothan, McKay, Marshall was postponed until Sunday morning (5:30 am PDT) due to inclement weather.

Currently five teams remain in the chase for the Gold Medal including the:

Host team, Roebothan Mc Kay Marshal, St. John’s, NL
Vancouver Grey Sox
Stony Plain
Alberta Twiliters
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Aspen Interiors
Kitchener, Ontario Hallman Twins


Sunday September 2nd schedule of games is as follows:

– 4:30 am PDT completion of game between Kitchener, Ontario and Stony Plain. Kitchener currently leads 5 – 4 in the 6th inning.

– 5:30 am PDT – Vancouver Grey Sox vs. St. John’s Newfoundland – winner advances to the Championship game loser to the semi final.

– 7:30 am PDT – Saskatoon, SK (Aspen) vs. winner of game between Kitchener and Stony Plain. Winner advances to semi final.

– 9:30 am PDT – semi final game – winner of 7:30 am PDT game vs. loser of Vancouver / St. John’s game. Winner of this game advances to the Championship game.

– 11:30 am PDT – Championship Game – winner of Vancouver / St. John’s game

The Vancouver Grey Sox opened the double life playoffs at the Softball Canada Senior Mens FP National Championship on Friday night with an exciting 3 – 2 victory over the Kitchener, Ontario Hallman Twins. 1B Derek Mayson inside the park homerun in the 5th inning broke a 2- 2 tie and provided the Grey Sox with the margin of victory. With the win, the BC squad is now assured of a minimum of a bronze medal at the 12 team event.

Next action for the Grey Sox was suppose to be Saturday September 1st at 1:30 pm PDT when they were to face the host team from St. John’s Newfoundland who have yet to lose in the tournament. Unfortunately inclement weather has resulted in the schedule being revised (see above).
