2008 NAFA World Series Dates

NAFA Executive Director Benjie Hedgecock is please to announce the following dates for all NAFA World Series events.


The Farm/NAFA “Open” World Series – 16 Teams

Middleton, Wisconsin (Near Madison)

July 25-27, 2008, Friday evening to Sunday early afternoon

Format – NAFA 3-game guarantee bracket with no “If” game

First Game – no earlier than 4 PM Friday with the championship
game at 1:15 PM on Sunday

Entry Fee – $415

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression

NAFA Men’s “AA-Major” World Series – 32 Teams

North Mankato, Minnesota

August 14-17, 2008, first Game either Thursday evening or Friday
Morning through Sunday Morning (all teams can fly out on Sunday
afternoon or earlier)

Format – NAFA game guarantee bracket

First Game no earlier Thursday evening at 7 PM or 9 AM Friday
with championship game on Sunday at 11:30 AM with if game to
follow if necessary

Entry Fee – $410

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression


NAFA Men’s “A-Major” World Series – 48 Teams

North Mankato, Minnesota

August 14-17, 2008, Thursday through Sunday

Format – NAFA 3 game guarantee bracket

First Game no earlier than Noon Thursday with championship game
Sunday at 1:15pm with if game to follow if necessary

Entry Fee – $395

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression

NAFA Men’s 23-and-Under World Series – 12 Teams

North Mankato, Minnesota

August 15-17, 2008, Friday night through Sunday

Format – 4 game guarantee, 3 round robin that seeds all into
a single elimination

First Game no earlier than 7 PM Friday night with championship
game Sunday at 1:15pm with if game to follow if necessary

Entry Fee – $395

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression

NAFA Men’s “A” World Series – 64 Teams

North Mankato, Minnesota

August 21-24, 2008, Thursday through Sunday

Format – NAFA 3 game guarantee bracket

First Game no earlier than 10 AM Thursday with championship game
Sunday at 1:15 PM with if game to follow if necessary

Entry Fee – $395

NAFA Men’s “AA” World Series – 40 Teams

Mankato, Minnesota

August 21-24, 2008, Thursday night through Sunday

Format – NAFA 3 game guarantee bracket

First Game no earlier than 4 PM Thursday with championship game
Sunday at 1:15 PM with if game to follow if necessary

NAFA Wood Bat World Series – 32 Teams

Denver, Colorado

August 30-31, 2008, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Monday will be a rain day or travel day Format – NAFA 3 game guarantee bracket

First Game no earlier than 8 AM Saturday with championship Sunday
at 3 PM

Entry Fee – $405

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression

NAFA Masters Eastern Zone World Series

55-and-Over, 50-and-Over, 45-and-Over, 40-and-Over, 35-and-Over,
Womens’ 35-and-Over

Rockford, Illinois (near Chicago)

September 12-14, 2008, Friday evening to Sunday afternoon

Format – 4 game guarantee, 3 round robin games that seed all
teams into a single elimination (If the number of teams is significant
in any age class, teams will break into the single elimination
portion in Upper and Lower Brackets on Sunday)

First game Friday evening 5 PM with the championship at 3 PM
on Sunday

Entry Fee – $415

center 47 core, .375 compression


NAFA Masters Western Zone World Series

50-and-Over, 45-and-Over, 40-and-Over, 35-and-Over, Womens’ 35-and-Over

Carson City, Nevada (fly to Reno)

September 20-21, 2008, Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon

Format – 3 game guarantee, 2 round robin games that seed all
teams into a single elimination (If the number of teams is significant
in any age class, teams will break into the single elimination
portion in Upper and Lower Brackets on Sunday)

First Game Saturday Morning at 8 AM with the championship game
at 3 PM on Sunday

Entry Fee – $400

Ball – the new NAFA 120 stitch white cover, white stitch, cork
center 47 core, .375 compression
