Circle Tap at the Grafmeier Tournament

The Circle Tap Fastpitch team ventured 1/2 hour south to beautiful Sunset Park for the Annual Jack Grafmeier Invite. Unfortunately, we only got in 3 ball games going 2-1(6-1 overall) due to some harsh rains in the area. Missing this weekend were Don Garvey and Paul Algar. Here is the action

This was a bit of an odd game that saw 3 Stoneyard pitchers in the first inning. CT cashed in on 9 first inning walks and an RBI single by Kyle Magnusson and a 3 run triple by Tim Jorgensen highighting the 10 run inning.

For the 2nd game in a row the Tappers put up a 10 spot in the 1st inning. Kyle VanAbel drew a walk followed by a Chris DeLarwelle base hit. With two out Glenn Ormsby delivered a 2 run double, Tom Crouch walked and then Kelly Wenstrom slammed a 3 run home run. Bryan Hansen then doubled and Jamie Knudson picked up an RBI single. Kevin Reichardt followed with an RBI triple. VanAbel was then hit by a pitch and Chris DeLarwelle unloaded on a pitch that landed in the trees beyond left center field for a 10-0 lead. DeLarwelle came on to pitch in the 2nd yielding 4 walks and two base hit that netted 4 runs. The Tappers came back with 3 more in the bottom half as Wenstrom was hit by a pitch, Hansen reached on an error and
later Reichardt launched a 3 run shot for a 13-4 advantage. CT tacked on 3 more in the 3rd as DeLarwelle hit another home run followed by a double by Tim Jorgensen, single by Glenn Ormsby and a 2RBI double by Kyle Magnusson. Circle Tap struck first in the top of the first on a solo lead off homer by Chris Miljavac. In the bottom of the first for the Stampede Ben Fjelland drew a lead off walk moved to 2nd on a passed ball and would later score on a sac fly to left to even the game at 1. Matt Owen hit a solo shot in the 3rd inning. Matt Darling, Tyson Byrne, and Tom Owen hit solo shots in the 5th and Drew Metille hit a two run shot in the 6th for the Stampede scoring.

Our last pool play game vs MinnDak was cancelled due to lightning on Saturday night and rained out on Sunday Circle Tap will next see action at the Townline tournament this coming weekend in Green Bay. The Tappers kick off at 7:45 Friday vs Stoneyard and will play The Bar of Green Bay at 12:30 and Farm at 4PM Saturday.
