Defending Canadian Champions Drop Two at Sr. Canadians

Monday, 25 August 2008

The big news from opening day at the Canadian Senior “A” Men’s Fastpitch Softball Championship is that the defending champion Vancouver Grey Sox lost both of their games.

That included a 4-3 setback to the host Saskatoon-Aspen Interiors in the feature game at Bob Van Impe Park following the Opening Ceremonies last night. Aspen and Jarvis, Ontario are 2-and-0. The Polyplus Diamondbacks won their lone game, 3-2 in eight innings over Horse Lake, Alberta while the Bruno Merchants lost twice…8-0 to St. Thomas, Ontario and 7-0 to Newfoundland. Play resumes at 9 this morning. All three Saskatchewan teams play twice.
