Petoskey is hosting the Marquardt Invitational Tournament over the 4th of July for A,B, & Open teams. I am not affiliated with this tournament at all but it is one of my favorite tournaments and I was hoping to generate some interest from other teams so that we could fill the tournament. There are currently four teams committed (Lightning, Tiffany’s, Up-to-Date Painting and Homer) and they are looking for four more teams.

If any team is interested in going and they are short on pitching let me know. My team has two “B” pitchers that are helping us out part-time this year and they have both expressed interest in throwing in this tournament. I know that there are a couple of other teams that are not playing that weekend and they may also have some pitchers that would like to throw. Editor’s note: This answers my question as to the name/location of the field shown in yesterday’s post on the Hastings Michigan team. It is the Petoskey field shown above. Does it get any nicer than that ?

40th Annual Holiday Invitational started by Ed White in 1970 and later renamed as the Rex Marquardt Memorial – Rex was a long time Tournament Director at Ed White Field with Ed and Dick Harbaugh – Rex and Dick were inducted into the MASA Hall of Fame in 2002 for their many years of service and in helping to build the reputation for tournament softball in Petoskey as one of the best.
Double elimination tournament, $250 entry fee made payable to D21 Softball and mailed to Scott at the address above, entry fee due by May 1st to hold your spot in this tournament.
