ORILLIA, ONTARIO, CANADA (July 7, 2004)
With only nine days to go until one of the top Annual Major Men’s
Fast-Pitch tournaments, the organizers are hard at work to make sure all
the “I’s” have been dotted and the “t’s” have been crossed. We are hard at
work making sure that the fields, food and volunteers are ready for the
players and fans. On the weekend of July 16,17, 18, Orillia will once
again play host to the best fast-pitch players and teams in the world. The
tournament will again be played at Kitchener Park, in Orillia. Kitchener
Park is located right on the shore of Lake Simcoe in the south end of Orillia.
Orillia will once again feature many of the top teams in the ISC, including
6 of the top 12 teams in the current rankings. As well, the Casino Rama
World Series will be the first time this year that the top three teams will
be competing at the same tournament. This year’s tournament features:
DIVISION “A”
# 1 ranked - Broken Bow Spirit from New York - 2001 & 2003 ISC World
Champions – 2002 Casino Rama World Series Champions
# 3 ranked – The Farm from Wisconsin – 3rd place at 2003 ISC Championships
– 1999 ISC World Champions – 1999 Casino Rama World Series Champions
# 24 ranked – Halifax Keiths from Nova Scotia – Host team for the 2004
Softball Canada National Championships
# 26 ranked – Quaker Riversharks from Pennsylvania
DIVISION “B”
# 2 ranked - County Materials from Wisconsin – 2nd place at 2003 ISC
Championships – 2003 Casino Rama World Series Champions
# 7 ranked – Fedlock Falcons from Virginia
# 10 ranked – Midland Explorers from Michigan
# 12 ranked – Hefflin Gremlins from New York – 1998 Casino Rama World
Series Champions
With the line-up of teams that has been assembled, we look forward to a
great weekend of very stiff competition and do not discount the either
Halifax or the Riversharks. With the line-up that both of teams will put
on the field they will have the potential to surprise many of the higher
ranked teams.
As a result of some problems with travel arrangements we have had to make a
couple of small changes to the schedule.
