Greenan snaps hitting slump as Storm win

ST. LOUIS - Catcher Brian Greenan halted a lengthy batting slump by driving 
in five runs in the final two innings of play as the St. Louis Storm 
exploded offensively in a 6-1 route of the Wellington Arsenault Sawmill 
Jacks Wednesday night.

The Source for Sports Men's Fast Pitch league game was played before about 
35 fans, some who were at the park as part of the Wedge family reunion at 
the recreation Centre, at the diamond in St. Louis

Greenan (2-3, double, single, five RBI) sparked his team's offense after 
Jacks pitcher Neil Arsenault held the team to no hits through five innings 
before Mark MacRae (1-2, walk, two runs scored) sent a single to the 
outfield and started the Storm scoring surge.

Also leading St. Louis, who moves back to .500 with the win (10-10) was 
Shane Costain (1-2, double, RBI) and Curtis Riley (1-2, double, run scored, 
walk).

For the Jacks, Jeff Richard (0-3) drove in Terry Caissie (1-3) with a sac 
fly to left field in the top of the seventh, but that was all the offense 
Wellington (7-14) could muster. Also tops at the plate were Jeff Gallant 
(1-3) and Gerald Gallant (1-3).

Winning pitcher Jamie Betts went four and two-thirds innings in relief, 
allowing one run on four hits and striking out four. Wayne Wilkie went two 
and one-third innings before tweaking his shoulder, allowing two hits and 
striking out six.

Losing pitcher Arsenault finished with five and one-third innings pitched, 
giving up four runs opn three hits, walking five and fanning two. Lucas 
Arsenault pitched two-thirds inning in relief allowing two runs on two 
hits, one walk and one strikeout.
