Storms' Broderick blanks Twins

ST. LOUIS, PEI - Jonathon Broderick helped his own cause at the plate and 
on the slab by pitching a one-hitter as the St. Louis Storm mercied the 
Summerside Moosehead Greco Twins 7-0 in five innings Wednesday night.

The Source for Sports Men's Fast Pitch League game was played at the 
diamond in St. Louis.

Broderick (1-3, home run, two RBI, two runs scored) was also a top 
contributor for their cause at bat. Mitch Turner (2-3, two home runs, three 
RBI, two runs scored), Brian Greenan (2-3, home run, single, RBI, run 
scored) and Larry Gallant (1-2, stolen base, run scored) also chipped in 
offensively.

For Summerside, Todd Richard (1-2) was just one of three base runners a 
solid Broderick allowed in the game. The other two - Daryl Yeo and Phil 
Bridges - came off walks.

Winning pitcher Broderick went five innings allowing one hit, walking two 
and sitting down seven. Losing pitcher Scott Bridges went four innings, 
allowing seven runs on 10 hits, walking one and striking out two.

STORM IN ACTION SUNDAY

The Storm (12-10) and closing in on idle Alberton for second, take on the 
Moase Plumbing and Heating Midgets at Kensington Lions Club Field, behind 
Community Gardens, Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
