It is not surprising that there is some questioning of residency of players
at this weeks Canadian Senior Men's Fastpitch Championship. Although the
host website does not list the team players list, a posting on Al's list
today talked about Brookfield Nova Scotia having both Rob & Sean O'Brien
playing for them. According to the recently compete ISC tournament which
published rosters, Sean is listed as residing in Kitchener, Ontario and Rob
is listed as residing in Toronto, Ontario.

Also, the official roster for Halifax at the ISC had 4 players residing in
New Brunswick and 1 in Newfoundland and Labrador.
If all these players have signed with Nova Scotia based teams, it will be
interesting to see how Softball Canada gets around the 1 import rule. Do
they just ignore what has been told & published to another softball
organization?

It should also be not that all players, coaches and managers are suppose
bona fide residents of the province they are represent and if they are not
Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants be in the country continuously for 1
calendar year before the tournament.

It will be indeed interesting to learn how Softball Canada deals with these
protests. Just like last year's AGM, there will be some interesting
conversations about residency.
