Hey Al

here's a report from WINDSOR (I think they are in rain delay as no update 
form 1 p.m. game onward so that is what I take as a rain delay, so here's 
something for the readers from yesterday)

Hitmen sit 1-2 at senior men's nats

ST. CROIX, N.S. - The Kinkora Hitmen sit at 1-2 after a two losses late 
Sunday night and Monday afternoon at the 2004 Canadian Senior Men's 
Nationals here.

The Hitmen lost 2-1 to Newfoundland and Labrador Two in extra innings 
Sunday night, while the Peterboro Ricart Pros (Ont. 3) beat them 3-0.

Against the Labatt Grumpy Stump, Jeff Ellsworth (1-3, run scored), Peter 
McCardle (1-3, RBI) were the offensive suppliers as the Pat McIver-coached 
squad managed just four hits and committed five errors.

For the Grumpy Stump, Keith Maynard (2-3, run scored), Scott Dwyer (1-3, 
RBI) and Stephen Rice (0-4, RBI) were tops at the plate.

Winning pitcher Harold Kelly went the distance striking out 13 while losing 
pitcher Steve Langley went seven innings allowing four hits, one earned 
run, walking three and striking out 10.

On Monday afternoon, Ricart pro designated hitter Gregg Garrity did all the 
damage as he hit two solo home runs to lead the charge. Dan Loney (1-3, 
RBI) and Rob Doncaster (1-3, run scored) also chipped in.

For Kinkora, Jeff Ellsworth continued his streaking hitting going 2-for-3 
to improve to 5-for-9 in the tournament's first three games. Also helping 
out was Craig Manuel (2-2), Steve Langley (1-3) and Brian Duffy (1-3) also 
had hits.

Winning pitcher Wayne Wells went seven shutout innings, striking out seven 
and walking one.

Losing pitcher Steve Langley, of Trenton, N.S., allowed five hits, three 
runs and struck out four as he pitched his third straight game for the Hitmen.
