Hitmen come up short, fall to 1-5

ST. CROIX, N.S. - The Saskatoon Black Sox scored two runs in the top of the 
sixth to rally for a 3-2 win over the Kinkora O'Shea's Pub and Eatery 
Hitmen here Thursday afternoon at the Canadian Senior Men's Fast Pitch 
Championship.
This was the fourth game the Hitmen were either within a run or had the 
lead, but fell short losing the game to drop their record to 1-5 and send 
them packing from any playoff action.
Kinkora plays the host Halifax Murphy's Fish and Chips Keith's at 4:30 p.m. 
in St. Croix, in their final game of round robin play.
Leading the Hitmen was Jeff Ellsworth (3-4, two runs scored) and Kevin 
Warren (1-3). Wade Smith (0-3, RBI) and Steve Langley (0-3, RBI) were tops 
at the plate. Ellsworth's big day at the dish pushed his totals to .500 (9-18).
Tops for the Sask #2 entry was Keith MacKintosh (2-3, two runs scored), Pat 
MacKintosh (2-3, runs scored, RBI) and Dean Holoien (1-3, RBI).
Winning pitcher was Bryan Newton who allowed one hit in two innings relief, 
striking out three and walking one.
Losing pitcher Steve Langley went seven innings allowing three earned runs, 
six hits, one walk and striking out nine.
