Manuel picks up 'Player of Week' honours

KINKORA - Craig Manuel of the Kinkora O'Shea's Pub and Eatery Hitmen is the 
Source for Sports/Alberton Sports 'Player of the Week' for the period Sept 
5-12.

Manuel pitched both ends of a double header against the Wellington 
Arsenault Sawmill Jacks as the Hitmen won 4-1 and 7-2 in extra innings last 
week.

The former Halifax native went 15 innings, allowing three runs on 12 hits, 
walking six while fanning 20 batters.

On the season, the one time Halifax Jaguar has a 0.70 ERA (earned run 
average) with almost 50 innings pitched, giving up a mere five runs on 19 
hits, walking eight, fanning 72 batters with a perfect 7-0 (won-loss) record.

At the dish, he was 2-for-7 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Others considered were the Jacks' Moe Cormier (3-6), Jeff Gallant (3-6) and 
Kinkora's Matt Dawson (3-7, three runs scored).
