Glencoe, On

        Despite strong winds and cold temperatures a large crowd watched 
the Glencoe Astros defeat the Alvinston Indians by a score of 4-2 and take 
a 2 games to 1 lead in the best of 5 final.  It was a well pitched game by 
both pitchers as Shaun Winship continued his strong post season pitching 
throwing a complete game for the win.  He allowed 8 hits , 2 walks and 
struck out 10 batters.  Indian hurler Doug Charlton pitched another strong 
game allowing 4 hits , 4 walks and struck out 9 batters.  Glencoe 1st 
baseman Tim Stover hit a 2 run homerun in the 4th inning which turned out 
be the difference in the game.  Ryan Wolfe scored on a pass ball in the 1st 
inning and also scored on a sac fly from Astros's shortstop Rich Galbraith 
to account for the other Glencoe Runs.  Alvinston catcher Scott Smith had a 
RBI single in the 2nd inning, and Mike Black had a RBI double in the 5th 
inning for both of the Alvinston runs.   Game 4 is Thursday in Alvinston at 
8:30pm.
