Kanata Team Easton claimed the playoff title for the second consecutive year
in the Kemptville area Men's Fastball League with a 3-1 series win over
first year entry the Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric.

For the fourth game in a row, Dan Konkle faced "Big Bud" Hanlon.  Konkle
allowed only 4 runs over 4 games and threw two shutouts in the series,
allowing only 12 hits.  Hanlon also threw well holding the big bats of Team
Easton to 10 runs over 4 games.

In Game 4, after three scoreless innings, Team Easton got on the board in
the top of the fourth.  Cory Morrison led off with a single, followed by a
John Peck single.  Then, with two out, Al Read hit a 2-2 pitch deep to
right-centre field for a three run homer to put Team Easton up 3-0.  These
were the only runs needed by Team Easton in the game.

Fitzroy responded in the bottom of the sixth, with a lead off walk by Trevor
Barton.  Barton reached second on a wild pitch and was brought in by a Shawn
Rebertz RBI single which broke up the no-hitter.

In the bottom of the seventh, down by two, Jason Armstrong led off with a
single.  Konkle retired the next three batters to clinch the series.

Konkle threw a two-hitter and walked five.  Hanlon scattered ten hits and
walked two.
