39th ANNUAL CLASSIC INVITATIONAL
SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
Sponsored by the Eau Claire Parks & Recreation Department



June 24, 25, and 26, 2005


ELIGIBILITY            16 TEAMS, WITH ENTRY FEE PAID.  Final team entry 
deadline is December 31, 2004.
**Tourney is expected to fill prior to the final entry date**



SANCTIONED

TOURNAMENT            National Sanction granted by the Amateur Softball 
Association Headquarters.  State A.S.A. Sanction granted by the Wisconsin 
State Commissioner.  All teams must be officially registered with the 
A.S.A.  No player disbarred or suspended by the A.S.A. is eligible to enter 
this tournament on any team roster.



TOURNAMENT

FORMAT                   Pool Play, four “pools” of four teams each will 
play a round robin schedule.  The two teams with the best record in each 
division following pool play will advance to a single elimination 
tourney.  **Pool play tiebreaker will be determined by head to head 
competition followed by Run Differential**

WHERE                     Carson Park Softball Fields and Bollinger 
Softball Fields

WHEN                        Tournament will start Friday evening, first 
game times will be approximately 6:00pm.

ENTRY FEE              Team entry fee is $350.  All checks should be made 
payable to: Eau Claire City Treasurer.  No entries accepted without payment 
in full.

PLAYER LIMITS            Teams may carry a maximum of twenty (20) players 
on their roster.  Roster changes are allowed up to your first game of the 
tournament (pool play).

RULES                       A.S.A. rules will prevail with the following 
exceptions:
ü      I.S.C. pitching rules will be enforced
ü      The international tiebreaker rule will be enforced in all  games.
ü      Run rule (8 after 5 complete innings) will be enforced for all games

BALLS                       Balls will be provided for all games.  The 
official tourney ball will be the Worth K-Master.



PRIZE MONEY                     Award money to top eight (8) teams only:

                  $2,500      First Place
              $1,500  Second Place
              $   500 Third & Fourth Place
              $   250      Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth Place

*The Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to alter 
or change the tourney format due to inclement weather.
