Hallman Twins now 3-0 at World Tournament and
Todd Martin throws Near Perfect Game

Eau Claire Wisconsin

Monday,

The Kitchener Hallman Twins made the long trip
from Ontario to Eau Claire Wisconsin along with
three of their fellow member teams of the ISC
Travel League of Eastern Canada. Making the trip
were The Six Nations Chiefs from Ohsweken.ON; The
Innerkip Bright Cheese House Eagles, and the Jarvis Merchants.

The Hallman Twins have made the trip many times
before, in various versions of the storied team.
This year is an important one for them as next
year they will be the host team for the 2006
version of the ISC World Tournament. They want to
make an impression and attract fans to their fair city next August.

The Twins started off the tournament as co-first
game participants, Friday afternoon at 4pm. Their
opponent was the Czech Republic National Team, a
team they hosted in 2002 when Kitchener first
hosted the ISC World Tournament at the Peter Hallman Ballyard.

Kitchener won that game 8 – 1 in five innings.
Todd Martin pitched for the Twins, giving up only
one hit and one run. Kitchener got 8 runs on 9
hits and they were scattered around amongst a
number of players but it was left fielder Billy
Simmon’s birthday and he got the lion’s share
with 2 hits and 3 runs. Billy also walked and
stole a couple of bases. All with only two at bats in the short game.

Centre fielder Dale Levy also had a good
afternoon with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 4 RBI. 1st
base Ron White also added 2 hits and 2 RBI.

The Twins were off to a good tournament.

The Twins got their second test at high noon on
Saturday against Brandt’s of Springfiled,
IL. Don Scott got the start for that game and
the 12 – 0 win in five innings. The hits were
shared around but Ron White led the charge with
six RBI on his 3 hit, two run afternoon.

Tonight, Monday night, the Twins got their most
serious challenge to date. They were on the late
night bill scheduled for 10pm on diamond one against Team Rainey of
Whittier California. The game did not get started
until just before midnight thanks to a number of very long games ahead of them.

Todd Martin got the start and did he ever go the
distance. He gave up no runs, only one hit and he
struck out a record (tie) 20 batters. The Twins
did not exactly have hot bats this evening but
they got the hit that mattered, in the bottom of
the 7th inning. Third base Derek Shackleton got
the game-winning hit that drove in the winning
run. Levy struck out swinging. Stere singled. Daer pinch ran

for Stere. White grounded out to p; Daer advanced
to second. Shackleton singled, RBI; Daer scored.
1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB.

The Twins next game in Tuesday at 10am against
the North Americans of Oklahoma City.
