Bluewater Fastball League

at Duncan McLellan Park, Owen Sound

The Scenic City Automotive Crunch swept the Belmore Stingers 4-0 and 5-1.

In the first game, Crunch second baseman Troy Barfoot opened with a single 
in the bottom of the first, moved to third on an error and scored on an 
r.b.i. single from Jason Redmond.

In the second inning, first baseman Trevor Wardell drilled a solo home run 
to make it 2-0 Crunch.

The game remained 2-0 thanks to a fine throw by Crunch rightfielder Chris 
Bradley. Bradley threw a strike to catcher Scott Baker who tagged out a 
Belmore runner trying to score.

Redmond would make it a 4-0 final with a 2 run homer in the 6th.

Bev Underwood tossed a 7 hit shutout for Scenic City Automotive, striking 
out 6 batters.

Scott Smith went the distance for the Stingers giving up 5 hits and 
striking out 11 batters

In game 2, The Crunch again opened the scoring in the bottom of the first.

Barfoot singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on an r.b.i. single 
from catcher Tony Lisk.

Bradley made it 3-0 for the Crunch with a blistering 2 run homer to left field.

Belmore would get on the board when first baseman Jeff Dickson launched a 
double, advanced to third on a wild pitch and came in to score on a 
sacrifice fly.

Bradley restored the 3 run Crunch cushion later when he walked to get 
aboard, stole second and then scored on a single by shortstop Chris Mink.

The final Crunch tally came when Garrett Baker knocked in Lisk who had got 
aboard by way of a Stinger error.

Garrett Baker went 4 innings for the Crunch giving up 1 run. Trevor Wardell 
came on with 3 innings of scoreless relief.

Chris eadie went all the way for Belmore in the nightcap, giving up 8 hits.

Tonight, Belmore is back in action when they visit the Wiarton Tom Norris 
Busmen.

Game time tonight is 8:30 at Bluewater Park in Wiarton.
