ST. THOMAS, ONT. - The Kinkora O'Shea's Pub and Eatery Hitmen will be
playing in one of five tiebreakers for single life throughout the
playoffs here Friday at the 2005 Senior Men's Canadians championship.

Following a 7-0 lost to the host St. Thomas Evergreen Centennials,
the Hitmen finished tied with Jarvis Merchants and Innerkip Eagles at
4-4 forcing a tie breaker to determine the eighth and final place
team that will have single life throughout the remainder of the playoffs.

The win gave St. Thomas double life as second place finishers, behind
8-0 Kitchener Hallman Twins.

Going into their game on "Moving Day" with the host Centennials, the
Hitmen knew a win would leave seven teams tied at 5-3, forcing a
tiebreaker game to determine double life, or a loss would land them
in a tiebreaker to determine the last playoff position.

"We're playing pretty good," Pat McIver said Thursday night prior to
their final round robin game. "Other then the first game against the
Mulgrave Eagles ( a 9-2 loss), we've been in every game. We could
easily have been 5-2 or 6-1 at this point."

Kinkora will play the Innerkip Bright Cheese House Eagles in
tiebreaker three at 12 p.m. EDT with the winner going on to face the
Merchants at 4 p.m. EDT. Kinkora beat Innerkip 2-1 Wednesday night
behind a strong outing from Rob Schweyer. They lost to Jarvis 4-2
earlier in the tournament. If they win both games, it sets up a fifth
place vs eighth place game Saturday morning at 10 a.m. EDT.

Against St. Thomas, Peter Reimer (1-3 double)) and Jeff Ellsworth
(1-2) were the only players to get a hit of an old nemesis for the
Hitmen, Frank Cox.

Losing pitcher Rob Schweyer went the complete game allowing seven
runs - six earned - on 10 hits, walking one and striking out six batters.

Sean O'Brien (2-3 home run) and Ryan Wolfe (2-3) led the Centennials,
who finished at 6-2. Mark Coleman slammed a home run in the sixth inning.

St. Thomas committed three errors while Kinkora had just one.

Cox pitched a complete game, two-hitter, walking one and fanning 13
Hitmen. Cox played at last year's Canadians in St. Croix, N.S. with
the Halifax Keith's.

FAWCETTS FINISH AT 1-7

Meanwhile, the Charlottetown Razzy's Roadhouse Fawcetts lost twice
Thursday, 8-3 and 5-1 to Newfoundland and Labrador Impact Signs while
the Hitmen were looking to finish on a high with win over the host
St. Thomas Centennials in the late game Thursday night.

Against Newfoundland, Jonathon Broderick (1-3, two RBI) , Mark
Arsenault (1-3 run scored), Joe Fagan (1-3 run scored) and Chris
Craig (1-3) did the damage.

Mike Bishop got tagged with the loss allowing seven runs - five
earned - on eight hits in two and two third innings walking one and
striking out two. Harold Kelly pitched three and one third innings
allowing one unearned run on five hits while fanning six.

Ward Gosse picked up the win.

Later Thursday, Charlottetown lost a must win game which could affect
the Hitmen's chances at making the crossovers, 5-1 to the Saskatoon
Aspen Interior Black Sox.

Canadian senior men's team prospect Trevor Ethier (3-3) did all the
damage for Aspen with a home run and five RBI.

Leading Charlottetown at the dish in the final game, played under 25
degree celsius and cloudy skies at Tarry Complex here, was Chris
Craig (1-3, home run,), Mark Arsenault (1-4), Joe Fagan (1-3) and
Jason Gallant (1-3, triple)

Harold Kelly took the loss.

Charlottetown's 1-7 record left them out of the eight positions that
qualify for playoff action of the 13 teams in the week long
tournament. The top four have double life while the last four have
single life for the playoffs.
