Welcome to the Softball Canada awards ceremony 
for the preliminary round of the Canadian Senior 
Men’s 2005 Fastball Championship at the Doug Tarry Complex in St. Thomas.

At this time I would like to introduce the 
President of Softball Canada
 Mr. Kevin Quinn.

Mr. Dale McMann is the Past President of Softball 
Canada and supervisor of the Senior Men’s 2005 Fastball Championships.

Mr. Bob Abbott is the Past President & Treasurer 
of the Ontario Amateur Softball Association and 
the assistant supervisor of the 2005 Canadian 
Senior Men’s Fastball Championship.

These gentlemen will present the awards to the 
Softball Canada 2005 Senior Men’s Fastball 
Championship All-Star team.  These players are 
selected for their performance during the 
preliminary round of the tournament.

The all-star pitcher for the tournament has 2 
complete games, and a 1.25 earned run average 
with 22 1/3 innings pitched.  As a batter he had 
5 runs batted in
 from the Newfoundland Impact Signs
 number 22

Gosse.

Catching for the All-Star team is a player who is 
the 2nd leading hitter in the tournament with 
a  .522 batting average, he led the tournament in 
hits with 12, and is his team’s leader in on base 
percentage and slugging percentage

hitter for the Prince George Black Bears

Ghostkeeper.

At 1st Base leading his team in runs in batted in 
and sporting a  .375 batting average and a .667 
slugging percentage, from the Nova Scotia 
Mulgrave Eagles their clean up hitter

                     Tim McCumber.

At 2nd Base, is a versatile clutch hitter 
and  the 4th leading batter of the tournament 
with a .455 batting average.  He was 4th in runs 
batted in and homeruns for the tournament
 from 
the Kitchener Hallman Twins
 their leadoff hitter

                                                          Jody Eidt.

At 3rd base, this player lead his team with a 
.438 batting average, and has an on base 
percentage of .688

At Shortstop, a steady fielding performer, who 
led his team in runs batted in with 9, and hits 
with 11
  the 3rd place hitter for the Jarvis

The outfielders selected to the Softball Canada 
2005 Senior Men’s Canadian Fastball Championship 
All-Star team include a player who is 3rd in the 
tournament in hitting, with a .500 batting 
average, and is leading his team in hits and 
homeruns
 from the Kinkora O’Sheas Pub and Eatery

     The 2nd outfielder finished in the top 10 in 
batting with a .400 batting average, and he has a 
fielding percentage of .1000
 from the Saskatoon

     The 3rd outfielder who had many game winning 
hits for his team throughout the preliminary 
round and led his team with a .471 batting 
average, and a .1000 fielding percentage

The All-Star Utility player is a catcher and a 
designated player for his team. After the 
preliminary round he is leading the tournament in 
homeruns with 4 and has 10 runs batted in, with a 
.393 batting average

The top pitcher for the Softball Canada 2005 
Senior Men’s Fastball Championships led the 
tournament with a  0.31 earned run average in 22 
2/3 innings.  He had 33 strikeouts, while giving 
up only 1 earned run.  He had 2 shutouts and 3 
complete games
 from the host St.Thomas Evergreen

The top batter for the Softball Canada 2005 
Senior Men’s Fastball Championships led the 
tournament with a .550 batting average.  He was 
second in runs batted in and had an      on base 
percentage of .522
 from the Jarvis Merchants

                                   Ian Fehrman..

The most valuable player for the preliminary 
round of the tournament is a talented athlete who 
can play any infield position.  He has a fielding 
percentage of 1.000.  He is tied for 4th  in runs 
batted in and 2nd in homeruns.  His .455 batting 
average was 4th highest of the tournament.  He 
led his team in on base percentage and batting 
average and had a slugging percentage of 1.000
 
from the Kitchener Hallman Twins
 their leadoff hitter

The most valuable player for the preliminary 
round of the tournament pitched in 5 of his 
team’s 8 games. He pitched 33 innings with a 2.33 
earned run average.  He led the championship in 
complete games and has pitched 2 complete games 
to advance his team to the play-off round
