ASA announces Women's 2005 Pan American Qualifier team and 2006 National 
Training Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- The Amateur Softball Association, the National 
Governing Body of Softball in the United States and USA Softball announced 
today the 17-member 2005 Women's Pan American Qualifier National team as 
well as the 2006 National Training team.  Selected by the Women's National 
Team Selection Committee, players participated in a four day camp September 
7-10 at the U.S. Olympic training center in Chula Vista, Calif.

The Pan American Qualifier team will compete November 26-December 5 in 
Guatemala City, Guatemala, at the qualifier tournament for the 2006 World 
Championships in Beijing, China and the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de 
Janeiro. The 2006 National Training team will train together during 
selected weeks from January- May of 2006.

Mike Candrea (Casa Grande, Ariz., head coach at Arizona) will lead the Red, 
White and Blue in Guatemala assisted by John Rittman (San Jose, Calif., 
head coach at Stanford University), Teresa Wilson (Lubbock, Texas, head 
coach at Texas Tech) and Stacy Iveson (Tucson, Ariz., head coach at Pima 
Community College).

and college listed in parenthesis (* are players that have college 
eligibility):
