----------

Jim Cowdrey To Help Gee Gees
The team is thrilled to add yet another one of Canada's top softball
athletes to the list of people helping this year. Jim Cowdrey has
agreed to assist the team with its athlete development towards its
goals for 2005. Jim also assisted Gee Gee head coach Gil Read with
Team Ontario that won the Gold Medal at the Canada Summer Games. Jim
is one of the best pitchers ever to play for Canada. He joined the
national team in 1980 as a 17 year old and was with the team when
they won Gold Medals at the Pan American games in 1983 and 1995,
Silver Medals in 1980 and 1984 at the International Softball
Federation Championships (ISF), and a Bronze Medal in 1998 at the
ISF's in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Jim pitched in the longest game in Canadian Championship history,
throwing all 24 innings for the Ottawa Turpins. He pitched 49 perfect
games and 133 no-hitters at the World Class level. The team is
thrilled to have this level of talent helping. Jim will be the Gee
Gees Pitching Coach and Head Scout this season. The team would like
to extend a big thank you to Jim for all of his assistance and
support this season.

Assistant Coach
