Brian,

Thank you for a little input of what is going on at Softball Canada.
As my opening line stated, Softball Canada does nothing to communicate
about the Men's game.

It's been almost a month now and you are the first to let it be known to
the public that the Pan Am qualifier was cancelled. Now if you can help,
Softball Canada members* have asked what the player pool is so that they
can start planning the 2006 season.

All this is the type of info and communication that I feel is lacking from
Softball Canada.

Brian your quote "One can be facetious and criticize but if Tom thinks the
members of
SC are sitting around doing nothing he is sadly mistaking".

This is not what I wrote in the "Rant" , Brian, but having said that, I
believe that the model for success of SC is outdated. When things were
good, the money rolled in no problems. When things are bad you blame
governments and sponsors.

Has Softball Canada thought of a Canada wide marketing blitz to reprofile
our sport, tell the public who have not known about the sport in the last
20 years of decrease of participation, the benefits of the game?
I can pick up any newspaper at the start of the season and see ads for
Lacrosse, Ball Hockey and Touch Football provided by the Sport Body's.
These are the sports we now compete at getting our athlete's from.

Finally Brian, please answer why Women's scores are announced immediately
and we have to fight to get Men's scores as in last summers World Juniors
exhibition series. Why in the Softball Newsletter it headed National Teams
and all that was written was about the women's side. You cherry picked the
easy answers but did not say anything about the real drift of the story,
communication.

Communicate and Market to new members. It could be a tough job but with a
plan I am sure we could all follow it. (More Members=More Dollars)

(* also I believe Softball Canada Members are you ,I and the other
Canadians that have the sport in our interest)
Always a pleasure yacking with you Brian.
