      We are pleased to announce a softball Blue Convention to be held 
April 5-6-7-8, 2007 in the city of Québec, Canada.

What is a Blue Convention?

Blue, respectful nickname given to umpires across North America & 
beyond  in the disciplines of fastpitch, slowpitch  & other summer sports.

A convention, assembly regrouping a large number of people gathered to 
deliberate, share &  perfect knowledge on reciprocal subjects.

The maturity of the Canadian program of umpires, renown actually as the 
best around the world, incite us to send you an invitation to participate.

Blue Convention Québec 2007

The goal of this media release is for you to mark in your calendar for the 
event. Scheduled for Easter Weekend - April 5-8, 2007 in beautiful Québec 
city, Canada.  So in approximately 15 months.

The umpire program & its development

Created in the mid 80's with Level-1, Levels-2, 3, 4 & 5 were developped 
during  the next 10 years, as much in fastpitch as slopitch disciplines.

Parallel to, the instructor-umpire program Level-1, 2 & 3 were also put up.

Logically, a special event had to be invented to harmonize the structure, & 
in '97, the first Blue Convention was held in Toronto, event that permit 
the program to progress with high steps.

Next Blue Conventions were then held in Vancouver '99, Fredericton 2001, 
Kitchener 2003 & Calgary 2005. The city of Québec will be living the 6th 
event & we'll also celebrate its 10th anniversary.

  Blue Convention 2007

The Blue Convention 2007 will continue in its tradition of offering 
outstanding and educational workshops, an inspiring keynote speaker and 
innovative events to Softball Officials. The convention is held every two 
years (on uneven years) with over 300 Softball officials gathering for this 
great networking opportunity.

The Convention will be held Easter Weekend -  April 5th to April 8th 2007 
in beautiful downtown Québec City at the Delta Québec. Come early and enjoy 
this beautiful tourist city.

Once again, we will be offering a Level IV clinic in conjunction with this 
event.

                                 Il nous fait plaisir de vous annoncer la 
tenue d'un Congrès d'arbitres (les Bleus) de softball devant se tenir les 
5-6-7-8 avril 2007 dans la Ville de Québec, Canada.

Qu'est-ce qu’un Congrès des Bleus?

Un Congrès, assemblée regroupant un nombre important de personnes réunies 
pour délibérer, partager, parfaire des connaissances sur un sujet donné.

Les Bleus, surnom respectueux donné aux arbitres de softball en Amérique du 
Nord & ailleurs dans le monde, dans les disciplines de la balle lente,  la 
balle rapide & autres sports estivals.

La maturité du programme d'arbitrage canadien, reconnu à juste titre comme 
le meilleur au monde actuellement, nous incite à vous lancer cette 
invitation à y participer. Plus de détails sur celui-ci plus bas.

Ce communiqué a pour but de vous permettre d'inscrire cet événement à votre 
agenda à l'avance. Prévu la fin de semaine de Pâques > du 5 au 8 avril 2007 
< dans la belle Ville de Québec au Canada, c'est-à-dire dans 
approximativement 15 mois.

Le Programme canadien d'arbitrage au softbal & son développement

Créé avec le Niveau 1 au milieu des années 80, les niveaux 2, 3, 4 & 5 
s'ajoutèrent au fil des années, autant dans les disciplines de la balle 
lente que la balle rapide.

  Parallèlement, le programme pour instructeurs-arbitres avec les Niveaux 
1, 2 & 3 fut également instauré.

Dans une suite logique, un événement spécial devait voir le jour afin 
d'harmoniser la structure, & en 1997, le premier Congrès des Bleus 
(arbitres) au Canada, fut tenu à Toronto, qui permit de faire progresser à 
grands pas le programme.

Les Congrès des Bleus suivants ont eu lieu à Vancouver en 99, Frédéricton 
en 2001, Kitchener en 2003 & Calgary en 2005. Québec vivra le 6e Congrès & 
nous en célébrerons aussi le 10e anniversaire.

Le Congrès des Bleus 2007

Dans une tradition maintenant établie, l'événement offrira des ateliers 
éducationnels & pertinents, présentera des intervenants inspirés & 
planifiera d'autres éléments innovateurs aux Officiels de Softball. Le 
Congrès bi-annuel (aux années impaires) regroupe plus de 300 officiels se 
rassemblant afin de perfectionner leur sport.

Le Congrès aura lieu le weekend de Pâques - du 5 au 8 avril 2007 dans la 
belle Ville de Québec à l'Hôtel Delta du centre-ville de Québec. Arrivez 
tôt & profitez de votre séjour dans cette superbe cité touristique.

Encore une fois, nous tiendrons une Clinique de Niveau IV durant l'événement.
