The Vancouver Grey Sox are pleased to announce the signing of
left handed pitcher Mike Piechnik to the bolster the team's pitching
staff in its attempt to qualify for the 2006 Softball Canada
Senior Mens FP Nationals to be held in late August in Prince
George, BC


Piechnik a resident of Victoria, BC is a well known and highly
regarded top quality pitcher at the senior mens fastpitch level,
having been recognized with numerous individual awards along
with his significant contributions to many club and international
team championships via his pitching prowess.  
Mike spent the 2005 season with the Broken Bow, NY Spirit, and
is signed with Portland, Oregon CR for the 2006 season.


Grey Sox Field Manager John Stuart commented on the signing:
"Mike Piechnik is arguably one of the finest pitchers in the
game.  Anytime you have the opportunity to add a person with
his proven abilities, along with his passion for the game and
desire to succeed, strengthens our chances when we compete against
the many tough teams that are seeking the national championship.
 I am confident that Mike's pitching experience and leadership
will provide invaluable support to our current staff of Nick
Underhill, Rick Smith and Derek Mayson".
