Howick Hitmen 8 Scenic City Automotive Crunch 6

The game was scoreless into the top of the 4th inning when Howick
starting 
pitcher Darryl Wheeler skied one that the Crunch lost in the
lights and 
allowed Wheeler to scamper into third base. Catcher Devon Connor
hit into a 
fielder's choice to score Wheeler and give the Hitmen a 1-0.

The Crunch tied the game in the bottom of the 4th. Pitcher Garrett
Baker hit 
a hard hopper to get on base. He was sacrificed to second by
Mike Majury and 
scored on two passed balls.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Crunch went up 2-1. Shortstop Ken
Kivell 
walked, stole second and was plated on a double by Crunch catcher
Tony Lisk.

The Hitmen though exploded for 6 runs in the the top of the 6th
inning.

With reliever Brandon Kerr and Wheeler on base, Connor drilled
a 3 run homer 
to give the Hitmen a 4-2 lead.

Later, with two out in the inning, Drew Fidler and Rob McGee
were on board 
when left fielder Mark Olson tagged Baker for another 3 run homer,
giving 
Howick a 7-2 lead.

The Crunch came right back with a 4 run inning in the bottom
of the 6th.

Majury walker, Bill Ottewell slammed a double and Chris Barfoot
singled to 
score Majury.

That was followed by a bases loaded strikeout/passed ball combination
and 
then an another rbi single from Jason Redmond to make it 7-5
Howick.

With two runners on Kivell nailed one to right field that Ty
Brown of Howick 
made a great catch on for the second out, but also allowed Dan
Fromanger to 
score from third to pull the Crunch to within 1.

Howick scored the final run of the game in the top of the 7th.
Wheeler 
singled, advanced on two hit batsmen and scored on a wild pitch
to make the 
final 8-6 Hitmen.

Wheeler and Kerr were touched for 8 hits but managed to strand
6 Crunch 
runners on base.

Baker went the complete game for th Crunch giving up 7 hits and
striking out 
7.
