Canada Elite defeat Michigan Ice 6 - 2

 

(Ottawa, ON) - After dropping two games to the Senior Women's
National Team in southern Ontario, Canada Elite traveled south
of the border to face the Michigan Ice, a semi-pro softball team
from Midland, Michigan, in a four game mini-series.

 

Hitting was predominant in game one as Canada Elite defeated
the Ice by a score of six to two.  Megan MacKenzie (North Delta,
BC) picked up the win for Canada as Jen Yee (North Delta, BC)
pushed Canada over the top with a Grand Slam home run in the
fourth inning giving Canada Elite a six nothing lead.

 

The Michigan Ice look to even up the series in Friday's game.
 The four game mini series is pre Canada Cup training for Canada
Elite, however, each game counts towards as a regular season
game for Michigan Ice.  The Canadian Elite Team will relocate
to Surrey, BC, at the completion of the mini series and rejoin
the Senior Women's National Team as they ready for the Canada
Cup of Softball.
