Semi Finals Set To Go in SRFL

 

Quarter Final #1

 

The Wyevale Tribe dispensed of the Wyebridge Wildcats in 3 straight
games to earn their birth in the SRFL Semi-Finals.  The Tribe
dominated each game from the start, and cruised to victories
of 11-0, 14-4, and 11-2.

 

Quarter Final #2

 

The Vasey Countrymen also moved on with a sweep of the Uhthoff
Nationals.  Vasey was challenged a bit in Game #3 a 2-1 victory,
but 6-0 and 15-0 victories in Games #1 & #2, may have contributed
to the let down.

 

Quarter Final #3

 

The hottest team in the SRFL over the past month has been the
5th ranked Toanche Jr Eagles, and they continued their good play
with a convincing 3-0 sweep of the 4th ranked Perkinsfield Bantus.
 12-6 & 14-8 were the scores in the first 2 games, while the
3rd is unknown to me at this time.

 

This sets up what should be some good Semi Final action.  Semi
Finals are best of 5 series’.

 

In the first series the Minesing Jack-O-Lanterns (after receiving
a 1st round bye) will face the red hot Toanche Eagles.  Will
the lay off hurt the savvy veterans from Minesing?  Can the Eagles
continue their momentum against the SRFL elite?  The next couple
of weeks will unveil the answers to these questions.

 

The 2nd series has the makings of a classic.  The Wyevale  Tribe
versus the Countrymen from Vasey.  Vasey has dominated the Tribe
over the last several years, including this year, posting a 2-0-1
record against them.  The Tribe will have to be on their game
if they are to have a chance in this series.  Expect close well
played games as these 2 teams meet in the playoffs for the first
time in a while, to renew their rivalry.
