Aussie go down to USA in first final



The Australia Open Women’s team, Aussie Spirit, has gone down
11-2 to the USA in the first round of the ISF XI Women’s World
Championship finals in Beijing, China today. 



Aussie Spirit finished off the round robin games with a five-two
win-loss ratio after going down to the Netherlands 4-2. 



Australian pitchers held the Netherland batters until the fifth
innings when they converted two hits to runs to take a 2-0 lead.




Aussie Spirit closed the margin in the bottom of the fifth, with
Kylie Cronk scoring. 



In the bottom of the sixth, Kate Quigley was helped around the
bases by team mates Danica Howlett and Amanda Doman to level
the scores. 



The Netherlands scored two runs in the top of the seventh with
Australia unable to reply to win the game. 



Australia , who finished second on the results ladder in Pool
A under Japan, took on the undefeated USA team today at 12.30pm
(AEST). 



The USA got two runs in the bottom of the second with Australia's
Simmone Morrow and Sandra Allen replying in the top of the thrid.




The game was tight, until the USA batters opened up, hitting
some huge home runs. 


Australia will now play the winner out of the Canada and Chinese
Taipei game currently being played tomorrow at 12.30pm (AEST).
