SRFL Finals Set To Go

 

The SRFL finals are set to start on Thursday in Barrie, as the
Minesing Pumpkins will take on the Wyevale Tribe in a rematch
of last years final.  Last year Minesing pushed aside the Tribe
in 6 exciting games and claimed the championship.  This year’s
final is shaping up to be much of the same as the top 2 teams
in the regular season will battle it out for the coveted championship.
 The Tribe will try once again to capture their first ever title,
while Minesing will, ho hum, try to capture what is definitely
not their first as they seem to win about every other year.

 

Minesing made it through the Semi Finals up ending the kids from
Toanche in 3 straight.  After a mercy win in the first two tight
games ended the series for Minesing.  While in the other Semi
Final, Wyevale upended Vasey in 4 games in a series that was
riddled with quality play throughout.  Vasey took the first game
5-3, then the Tribe came back and earned a 6-5 8 inning victory.
 Wyevale followed that up with a J Giff 1 hit shutout for 3-0
win and 2-1 series lead.  In the final game the Tribe got down
4 runs in the first, but battle back to tie it, only to have
Vasey go up 5-4 in the bottom of the 6th.  In the top of the
7th the Tribe bats exploded for 8 runs and took Vasey’s momentum
right from under them.  Final Score 12-5. 

 

So as it stand right now the schedule is as follows: 

 

Game #1 Thu Sep 7 @ Barrie 7:30

Game #2 Mon Sep 11 @ Wyevale 8:30 (This game will likely change
to Sun 10th @ 8:30)

Game #3 Thu Sep 14 @ Barrie 7:30

Game #4 Mon Sep 18 @ Wyevale 8:00

Game #5 Thu Sep 21 @ Barrie 7:30

Game #6 Mon Sep 25 @ Wyevale 8:00

Game #7 Thu Sep 28 @ Barrie 7:30
