Softball Canada Names its 2006 Junior Women's National Team

 

(Ottawa, ON) - Seventeen (17) of Canada's brightest future female
softball players have been named to the Junior Women's National
Team and will represent Canada at the Pan Am Championships in
Puerto Rico from November 8th to the 18th, a qualifier for the
2007 ISF World Championships in Kutno, Poland..

 

The athletes who have been chosen to represent Canada at the
Pan Am Championships are:

 

Abel, Nicole - Kitchener, ON

Brooks, Lisa - Mississauga, ON

Coleshill, Pearl - Stouffville, ON

Cronin, Courtney - Delta, BC

Draper, Robyn - Brampton, ON

Ellis, Kelsey - Surrey, BC

Lafrance, Jillian - Calgary, AB

Lavadan, Katrina - West Hill, ON

Leclair, Stephanie - Kitchener, ON

McGarva, Richelle - Surrey, BC

McIntosh, Leah - Whitby, ON

McLean, Tanya - Delta, BC

"All the athletes who participated in our Evaluation and Selection
camps were very talented making the camps exciting and our decisions
difficult" stated Mark Sanderson, Junior Women's National Team
Head Coach.  "We the coaching staff are looking forward to working
and training with this group of talented young athletes as we
prepare for the Junior World Qualifier in Puerto Rico."

 

Softball Canada is the National Sport Governing Body for the
development and regulation of softball in Canada.  Its broad
objectives are to promote, encourage and develop mass participation
and international excellence in softball.
