--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Softball team has dedicated
their game on Friday to Canadian troops at home and abroad.

Friday represents the first time the team will be at home in
the 2006 season and in support of an initiative started at the
CF base in Petawawa by two wives of soldiers in Afghanistan,
the Gee-Gees will be wearing special red uniforms for the game.

There are currently 2,300 Canadian soldiers fighting in Afghanistan
36 of whom have died in support of their cause.

Local members of the Royal Canadian Legion, all members of the
Canadian Forces that are stationed in Ottawa, the garrison Commander
in Ottawa, and members of the local media have been invited to
the game.

Everyone who attends the game is encouraged to wear red to show
support for our troops.

The game is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday September 29

The game will take place at Brewer Park off Bronson Avenue across
the street from Carleton University.

Hope to see you there!
