Big hits and misses on day three


ACT continued to dominate the men’s competition of the 2007 Australian
OpenFastpitch Championship at Blacktown Olympic Park today. 

 

ACT defeated Queensland 7-2 in thefirst match of the day and
followed up their advancement with an 11-0 win over Northern
Territory, scoring 10 runs in the top of the first innings off
onlyfive hits to end the game after just four innings and 55
minutes.

 

It wasn’t all bad news for Northern Territory who is currently
fifth on the competition ladder defeating New South Wales in
a tight game 2-1. 

 

Western Australia, who currently trail ACT by four points onthe
ladder, continued to show their form defeating New South Wales
3-1. Western Australia will take on Victoria at 5.30pm (AEST)
to concludethe day’s play for the men’s competition. 

 

In the women’s competition, Queensland continuesto show form
after winning against Western Australia, who arecurrently second,
3-1. Queensland will takeon South Australia tonight at 6.00pm
(AEST). 

 

Western Australia proved too strong for South Australia scoring
a massive 15 runs throughout the game. South Australia managed
to get one run on the board early in the gamebefore Western Australia’s
onslaught. Western Australia will take on ACT at 6.00pm (AEST).

 

South Australia defeated Tasmania/NorthernTerritory, who are
currently in last place, 3-1 early in the day. 

 

Victoria is currently taking on ACT and leadby one run at the
bottom of the fourth innings. Victoria isscheduled to take on
New South Wales at 8.00pm (AEST) toconclude the women’s competition
for day three.
