Softball Canada Announces its 2007 Senior Women's National Teams

(Ottawa, ON) - Softball Canada is pleased to announce its 2007
Pam American Games and 2007 World University Games Teams.

Softball Canada has selected its seventeen (17) best female athletes
to represent Canada at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio De
Janeiro, Brazil, July 23rd to the 30th, 2007.

The athletes selected to the Senior Women's National Team are:

Alison Bradley, ON
Erin Cumptsone, SK
Erin Gee, BC
Sheena Lawrick, AB
Danielle Lawrie, BC
Robin Mackin, ON
Noemie Marin, QC
Melanie Matthews, BC
Cambria McKay, ON
Erin McLean, ON
Dionne Meier, SK
Kristy Odamura, BC
Kaleigh Rafter, ON
Katie Rosentreter, MB
Jen Salling, BC
Megan Timpf, ON
Janiva Willis, NB

Along with the Pan American Games, the Senior Women's National
Team will also compete at the Canada Cup (July 1st to 8th) and
the USA World Cup (July 11th to 16th). Joining the team for training
and competition at the Canada Cup are Katie Hnatyk (ON), Tamra
Howren (BC), Megan MacKenzie (BC), Rachel Schill (BC) and Ashley
Van Boxmeer (CA).

Softball Canada has also named seventeen (17) athletes to its
World University Games Team. The World University Games will
take place from August 8th to 18th in Bangkok, Thailand.

The athletes selected to the World University Games Team are:

"I am very excited about the possibilities that await the National
Teams in 2007" stated Lori Sippel, Senior Women's National Team
Head Coach. "A high level schedule including return trips to
the Canada Cup and the US World Cup will provide the training
and competition necessary to prepare us for championship play
at the Pan American Games. Additionally, the chance to experience
multi sport events such as the Pan American Games and World University
Games can only elevate each player's confidence and experience
level while providing the necessary evaluating opportunities
for the staff leading into Olympic team selection. "
