To all team managers,

We would like to inform you that the Saint-Léonard-d’Aston Express
will be holding a fastpitch tournament at the municipal ball
field of Saint-Léonard-d’Aston on June 29-30, July 1 ,2007. 
This tournament is intended for junior and senior fastpitch teams,
which will be playing in a single class.  

A purse of $1200 will be distributed between the two finalists.
 The entry fee is $300 per team.

To get to Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, take Exit 200 on Highway 20.
If arriving from Trois Rivières, take Highway 55 southward (25-minute
drive from the Laviolette Bridge).

We certainly do hope that your team will be a part of this great
softball event.

SPECIFIC RULES


1.	The tournament entry deadline is May 25, 2007.
2.	The entry fees are payable before the first game.
3.	The purses will be the following: $800 to the winner and $400
to the finalist.  Purses can change depending on the number of
teams entered.
4.	The tournament format will be determined based on the number
of teams entered.
5.	All games are scheduled for 6 innings with the exception of
the final game, which is scheduled for 7 innings.
6.	In case of a tie after the regular number of innings, the
last hitter starts at second base at the beginning of each extra
half-inning.
7.	Each team manager will be personally informed of his team’s
first game.
8.	A maximum of 18 players are allowed for each team. The roster
becomes final for the whole tournament on the first game. Substitution
with a non-roster player will result in team disqualification
for the tournament.
9.	A team must be available 30 minutes before its scheduled game
time.  A 15-minute delay, a number of players lower than 9 or
the refusal to complete a game will automatically result in a
loss for that team.
10.	The pitching rules are the ISC rules.
11.	The official rules are those of Softball Canada.
12.	No protest is allowed.
13.	A player ejected from a game is suspended for the next game.
14.	An 8-run difference after 3 complete innings puts an end
to a game.
15.	The ground rules are the local rules.
16.	The coin toss made by the umpire at the beginning of the
game in the presence of the two captains determines which team
will play on defense at the beginning of the game.
17.	The use of a player competing under a false identity will
result in team disqualification for the tournament.
18.	Any other unwritten rule is judged by the organizing committee.
19.	In case of a tie in a round robin, the following will be
considered (in order): 
a)	head-to-head results
b)	run differential between the two teams
c)	run differential
d)	runs scored
e)	runs allowed
