Aurora, IL

The Aurora Dolan & Murphy Shamrocks improve to 14-4 for the 2007
season as they tied for 3rd place at the Dick Tracy tournament
in Rockford, IL this past weekend. Congratulations to the Bloomington
Stix who won the tournament.

The Shamrocks were led by 29 year-old Samoan hurler Jason Iuli.
Iuli battled hard for Aurora, throwing all five games on the
weekend. On Saturday, Iuli held runner-up Blackhawk Pride to
only two runs in their opening game (both runs scored in the
first inning) before holding the hard-hitting Rice Creek Lightning
to only 4 runs in two games. Iuli started strong on Saturday
allowing only 3 runs to the Goshen Gators, before running out
of gas against champion Bloomington Stix in the semi-final game.

The Shamrocks offensive attack was led by newcomer, Camden Decker.
Although stats are currently unavailable, Camden entered the
semi-final game an impressive 8x11 with a number of big hits
and key RBIs for the weekend. Other offensive standouts include
newcomer, PJ McKinney, third baseman Adam Perkins, first Baseman
Dave Schuett, and the veteran, John “Wildman” Sudges. Aurora
regretfully notes that Dave Schuett was struck in the face by
an errant throw during our match up with Goshen. Schuett suffered
a fracture from his tooth down to the jaw bone and will be out
for 4 weeks. We wish him a fast and full recovery.

On a more positive note, Aurora looks forward to Juan Potolicchio
and Jonas Mach joining Iuli on the mound this weekend in Walcott,
IA. The Shamrocks will also welcome the return of slugger, Mike
Armitage to their line-up this weekend. Aurora will play all
pool play at Victory Park this weekend (schedule below):

Friday, May 25th
7:45pm vs. Thomson, IL

Saturday, May 26th
9:00am vs. Midwest Stampede
1:00pm vs. Albaugh Inc
3:00pm vs. New Image

Sunday, May 27th
10:00am Single elimination tournament begins (top 2 teams from
each pool)
