Team Canada Women’s team Tops Dominican Republic 9-2 in Day 1
action at the 14th Canada Cup tournament in White Rock, British
Columbia.  
Team Canada storms out of the gates at the 2007 Canada Cup. 
With a large supportive crowd in attendance, Team Canada struck
for 13 hits against the Dominican Republic winning by run rule
after five innings 9-2.  
Robin Mackin (Newmarket, Ontario) had a solid game on the mound
giving up just two runs while collecting six strikeouts in her
five innings pitched.   
Offensively, it was a tremendous team effort with nine different
players contributing towards the 13 hit effort for the Canadian
side.  Alison Bradley (Pinkerton, Ontario) went 3 for 4 with
2 RBI’s while Mel Matthews hit safely twice with one of those
hits a booming home run to bring in two of the nine runs. 
Canada Cup continues tomorrow with day two action, Canada takes
on  the Gold Coast Hurricanes from California at 6:30pm at Softball
City.
