Middleton, WI

The Circle Tap Fastpitch team went 3-1(26-12 overall) on the
weekend and
earned a runner-up in the NAFA Open World Series. A huge thank
you to
Adam Folkard and the Patsy's organization for allowing us to
use his
services as our two pitchers were unable to attend.

Game 1
7PM Friday

The Tappers struck in the bottom of the first as Steve Schucker
drew a
lead off walk, kevin Reichardt singled, Kyle Magnusson walked
and with one
out Frankie Perez smashed a line drive off the center field fence
driving
in two runs. CT put up 4 more in the 3rd as Magnusson lead off
with a
double, Chris DeLarwelle walked and Frankie Perez smashed a 3
run bomb. 
With two out Bryan Hansen walked and would later score on a Jamie
Knudson
base hit. It would remain 6-0 until the 6th when Reichardt lead
off with
a single stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on an error, then scored
on a
DeLarwelle sac fly.

Game 2

This was another classic matchup between these two squads, however
only
the 2nd meeting of the year. The Tappers struck for a run in
the top of
the 2nd as Chris DeLarwelle reached on an error moved to 2nd
on an ensuing
throwing error and would later score on a sac fly by Tom Crouch.
It would
remain a 1-0 game until the bottom of the 6th when Chad Boom
smashed a
double down the 3rd base line for MinnDak. CT decided to then
intentionally walk cleanup hitter Travis Wilson. Roman Foore
hit a
comebacker to the pitcher but in trying to turn a double play
the ball
sailed into center field allowing a run to score and a 1-1 game.
A strike
out and fly out ended the threat. In the top of the 8th(NO INTERNATIONAL
TIE BREAKER) Steve Schucker picked up a one out base hit and
took 2nd on a
fumbled ball in the outfield, after a strikeout Kyle Magnusson
picked up a
clutch base hit and scored the eventual winning run. MinnDak
picked up a
base hit in the bottom half but a double play ended the game.

CT took an early lead in this one in the bottom of the 1st as
Steve
Schucker lead off with a base hit and Kyle Magnusson followed
with a two
run shot. Albaugh came right back in the top of the 2nd as Ben
Fjelland
lead off with a solo shot. Matt Darling earned a walk, with one
out Sonny
Perkins hit a ball back to the pitcher and a bad throw to first
allowed
him to reach and the runner on 1st went to 3rd and a bad throw
allowed him
to score. After the snowball fight it was a 2-2 game. It remained
that
way until the bottom of the 4th when Tim Jorgensen drew a two
out walk,
Tom Crouch singled and Kevin Reichardt hit a 3 run shot to make
it 5-2.

This one was over very quickly as we had no pitching available
but made
due with what we had. For Farm Donnie Hale had a 2RBI single
in the
first, Zenon Winters and Collin Abbott had RBI's in the 2nd.
Jeff
Goolagong hit a solo shot in the 3rd and a two run shot in the
5th.

Circle Tap opens play at the ASA National Championship in South
Bend, IN
on Thursday night at 8PM vs Thomson Merchants. CT is the defending
National Champion.
